Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP)

The Exceptional Family Member Program (EFMP) is a 3-part union that implements the mandatory U.S. Department of Defense enrollment program providing support for special medical and educational needs. The three teams in the functional union are Medical (EFMP-M), Assignments (EFMP-A) and Family Support (EFMP-FS). These functional teams work toward the common goal of providing comprehensive and coordinated support for EFMP families.

EFMP 101 Orientation

Designed to give both newly enrolled and newly arrived EFMP families an overview of the program and to hear from the subject matter experts from EFMP Medical, Family Support, and Assignment. Perfect for all new, prospective, and current EFMP families.

EFMP Play Date

This scheduled play group is a great opportunity  for parents and kids to gather and improve social, cognitive, and motor skills while having fun together. Featuring an interactive Sensory Story Time designed for EFMP and homeschool families with children aged 0-5.

TRICARE Extended Care Health Option (ECHO)

TRICARE ECHO provides supplemental services to active duty family members with qualifying mental or physical disabilities. ECHO offers integrated services and supplies beyond those offered by your TRICARE program option. Registration is required for ECHO services with a regional contractor to be eligible for benefits beforehand. There is no retroactive registration for ECHO.

Respite Care

This specialized care is designed to help reduce the stresses associated with caring for an exceptional family member (EFM). Respite Care cannot be used for work or school purposes, including before- or after-school care. It is only intended to be used for R&R (rest and relaxation) time for the main caregivers of the EFM and eligible Typically Developing siblings.

Those wishing to utilize Respite Care must be enrolled in the Air Force Exceptional Family Member Program.
