Relocation Assistance

Relocation Assistance is available to total force members and their families authorized to make a Permanent Change of Station (PCS) move. The Relocation Assistance Program (RAP) provides programs and services designed to minimize the adverse effects of relocation. Customers can access services through the Military and Family Readiness Center (M&FRC), as well as through several online avenues. 

Base Newcomers Orientation

The M&FRC develop and execute Newcomers Orientation workshops in line with the installation leadership with emphasis to meet the inbound members and community needs.

Partnership with installation agencies is critical to the success of Newcomers. Establishing and maintaining communication, to include training and awareness of the goals and objectives of Newcomers Orientation is vital in building resilient and postured Airmen, Guardians and families.

The briefings are short presentations within the basic workshop. A welcome briefing is offered as well, including a briefing on installation services and a question and anwser session to cover the installation needs, stressors and help tidbits as needed.

Child Care for PCS

A certificate that entitles your family to receive up to 20 hours of childcare per eligible child when you are 60 days of your PCS departure or arrival date at the base. This childcare will be provided by a licensed Family Childcare (FCC) provider on base or AF affiliated homes off base and paid for by the Air Force Aid Society. You must present the “Childcare for PCS” Certificate to the care provider to verify eligibility.

Onboarding Questionnaire

Moody AFB Onboarding Questionnaries are sent to inbound members prior to PCS to Moody. The purpose of the questionnaire is to assist members and their families in provding a smooth transition to their gaining help to alleviate stressors, pitfalls, and tidbits they may encounter during PCS.

Sponsorship Information/Survey

Sponsorship is a critical component of relocation and supplemental sponsorship training. Sponsors are appointed by unit leadership to incoming members and their families. Creating that first link to their new community and support service. It serves as the foundation for newcomers to feel connected, welcomed and at ease during their PCS.

 

The Sponsorship Survey is completed prior to and during newcomers to help improve the overall effectiveness of the sponsorship program for members and their familes.

Smooth Move

Provides relocation briefings for those about to PCS such as Personal Financial Counselling, Military & Family Readiness, School Liaison, Housing, Tricare, Travel Management Office, M&FRC EFMP and Medical EFMP etc.

Department Information Messaging System (DIMS)

The DIMS provides instructions for log in and registration for the Relocation Assistance Program Manager to include reports and statistics that are needed to update data (legal, schools, commissary, child development center, youth program, etc.) for the installation on a quarterly basis.

All installations must be certified.
