Commander's Key Spouse Program

The Commander’s Key Spouse Program (CKSP) – formerly the Key Spouse Program – selects and establishes dedicated Key Support Liaisons, who serve as an integral part of Moody’s readiness team and an essential resource for military families. The Key Spouse is a trained volunteer, appointed by the Unit Commander as a Key Spouse or mentor, who helps unit leadership address spouse/family issues and concerns. M&FRC provides oversight and assistance to the CKSP through continued training opportunities and information and referral support.

How the Key Support Program Can Support You

The Key Support Program offers spouses a range of rescourses and support by keeping spouses informed about base events and important updates relevant to military life. It helps build connections within the military community, fostering a strong support system and sense of belonging.

The program also provides guidance on available resources, including family support services, deployment assistance, and relocation information.

Additionally, it connects spouses with experienced mentors for emotional support and practical advice while offering educational opportunities through workshops and training to enhance personal development and readiness for military life challenges.

Commander’s Key Support Program (KSP) Initial Training

KSP training is thorough, continuous, and critical to the KSL and Mentors in effectively carrying out official duties. The KSP Initial Training consists of eight (8) standardized modules and training time is approximately six (6) hours.

Immersion Training

Once the online training certificate is sent to the key Support Liaison Training Coordinator, an appointment to come into the M&FRC to conduct immersion training will be scheduled. Training is designed to be created around the needs and resources of their current home station they will be serving at. This also gives the new Key Suppport time inside the M&FRC where these resources are held.

Materials such as a binder and swag items will also be given at this time.

Key Support Liaison Quarterly Training

Quaterly trainings are optional and held by the M&FRC. These trainings will vary and are an opportunity for Key Supports to talk across the aisle and share thoughts and ideas with other unit spouses.

Key Support Liaison Annual SAPR/Suicide Awareness Training

Each year Key Support Liaison’s must complete the annual SAPR & Suicide Prevention training either within their unit or with M&FRC. This is important to complete yearly due to unit inspection checklist items.

Heart Link

Heart Link is a spouse orientation program for spouses new to the military. The orientation offers valuable tools to help you successfully adapt to the military lifestyle.
